Lots of Live-Tweeting to Celebrate the Last Week of Classes

It’s hard to believe, but this week is the last week of classes for the spring semester of Newhouse NYC. To celebrate, we’re having four students live-tweet their days. Follow along all four days, and if you have any questions about Newhouse NYC, ask them! Just tweet your Q at the @NewhouseNYC handle.

And so you get to know them a bit before they start tweeting, here’s a crash course on each student!

LIVE-TWEETING TUESDAY, APRIL 21:
Autumn

NAME: Autumn Boatner
YEAR: Senior
MAJOR: Television, Radio & Film
INTERNSHIP: MTV.com & MTV News Production Intern
FROM: San Diego, California
BEST PART OF NYC SO FAR: Meeting the “Teen Moms” at a shoot for MTV.com. I watched them grow up on TV, and it was unreal to see them in person.
MOST DELICIOUS THING I’VE EATEN IN NYC: Chicken and Waffles at ANY Sunday NYC brunch spot. They taste different everywhere, yet never fail to disappoint me. Magic.
FAVORITE NEWHOUSE NYC SPEAKER SO FAR AND WHY: Edward Bleier because it was an amazing opportunity to meet Mr. Bleier and hear some of his insights about the future of television. His thoughts were so provoking that audience members bantered back and forth with their own predictions. The panel was very engaging and something I recognize was a unique experience. The room was full of the brightest minds in television.

LIVE-TWEETING THURSDAY, APRIL 23:
Lu
NAME: Lu Qiao
YEAR: Senior
MAJOR: Advertising
INTERNSHIP: Vbar & Co.
FROM: Flushing, Queens
BEST PART OF NYC SO FAR: There is always something to do or eat in NYC!
MOST DELICIOUS THING I’VE EATEN IN NYC: Cajun-style seafood at The Boil!
FAVORITE NEWHOUSE NYC SPEAKER SO FAR AND WHY: Eric Forman of Facebook, because as a young alumnus, he is very understanding of our position, and he genuinely wants to help students in any way he can!

LIVE-TWEETING FRIDAY, APRIL 24:
saedah
NAME: Saedah Ham
YEAR: Junior
MAJOR: Public Relations
INTERNSHIP: TL Communications
FROM: Seattle, WA
BEST PART OF NYC SO FAR: Finally getting to live in the best city in the world! I’ve been a west coast girl my entire life, so this experience has been very eye opening for me.
MOST DELICIOUS THING I’VE EATEN IN NYC: Pollo Asado tacos from Los Tacos No.1 (best tacos I’ve ever had)!
FAVORITE NEWHOUSE NYC SPEAKER SO FAR AND WHY: Mark Luckie at Twitter. The Twitter office was beautiful (we even got to raid the Twitter pantry!), and Mark gave a lot of great advice on how to increase follower engagement, such as “tweet like you’re talking to a friend.”

LIVE-TWEETING SATURDAY, APRIL 25:
sam
NAME: Sam Grodsky
YEAR: Junior
MAJOR: Television, Radio & Film
INTERNSHIP: 3 Arts Entertainment and the Miss Universe Organization
FROM: Longmeadow, MA
BEST PART OF NYC SO FAR: Roaming aimlessly around the city and stumbling upon your new favorite place. Oh, and ClassPass. Everyone get ClassPass. And Brooklyn Flea.
MOST DELICIOUS THING I’VE EATEN IN NYC: The “Frozen S’mores” from Dominique Ansel Bakery are the greatest invention since….probably his last invention.
FAVORITE NEWHOUSE NYC SPEAKER SO FAR AND WHY: Ed Bleier. He has been part of the television industry for so long, and has this wealth of knowledge that I would love to have someday.
