Newhouse in NYC Spends an Afternoon at the Harry Connick Jr. Show
By: Kaileigh Woodruff, ADV and Sociology senior
Spending a semester with Newhouse NYC has many perks including interning, taking classes and living in NYC. But from time to time Newhouse NYC students get extra special treats like attending the live tapping of Harry! with Harry Connick Jr. On November 15, 2016 Jessica Mendelson, Erica Halverson, Chloe Anello and I got the amazing opportunity to get VIP seats for the show.
While it was a gloomy day in NYC, the energy was high inside the CBS Studios. During the taping Harry Connick Jr. interviewed James Brolin about his upcoming Hallmark movie, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, Hayden Szeto about his movie debut in “The Edge of Seventeen” with Hailee Steinfeld, and Christina Hendricks promoting the upcoming movie “Bad Santa 2” coming out November 23, 2016.
At the end of the taping we also got to meet Newhouse alumnus, Eric Stangel who is the co-executive producer of The Harry Connick Jr Show. We always love running into Newhouse alumni in the city and meeting Eric was no exception!
Thank you to everyone at The Harry Connick Jr. Show for having Newhouse NYC students on the show! We had such a fabulous time and will come back anytime. And watch the show on November 17, 2016 and November 23, 2016 to see if we make it on television!
